Warm Virtual Welcome - Spring 2022

Hello Gators,

We are excited to extend a warm virtual welcome back to SF State for Spring 2022! While we had hoped to see you around the quad this week, we know starting our semester off virtually is the best way to keep our Gator community safe.

I know many of you are reading this and counting down the days to February 14th, when the campus expects to return to in-person classes and activities at SF State (the President will confirm this plan in a message to campus on February 1st, after consulting the latest health and safety trends), while others are feeling the burden of the last two complete years of COVID-19 disruptions. If you are anxious about returning to in-person classes and activities, please reach out to your advisors: our academic departments have tried to offer as many alternatives as possible in both in-person and remote modalities, in order to accommodate a range of student needs. Make appointments to explore online schedules for Spring 2022 so you feel confident and safe as you pursue your coursework.

Student Affairs & Enrollment Management also has a lot of services to support you as we transition back to campus including the Dean-On-Call program, Counseling & Psychological Services, and the Disability Programs & Resource Center to name a few. If you have registration or financial aid questions, our OneStop counter on the first floor of the Student Services Building will reopen on Monday, February 7th. The division of Equity & Community Inclusion will also update their office hours for those of you who want to be in community with your fellow Gators.

As always, we encourage you to continue checking SF State’s Stronger Together website for the latest updates. Reach out to your friends, faculty and favorite staff members, and know we will persevere, as Gators always do, and return to in-person classes and activities as soon as it is safe.

Sending you good energy as you begin your classes this week.
